Hello!
I am so excited to be welcoming so many new clients since we relocated to the area of West Georgia (Atlanta and surrounding areas). Being that often times our first session together is a newborn session; I wanted to share some tips for getting ready for your session.
If you have already booked your session, then please don't worry as I will be emailing a prep guide to you that goes even further into detail of how to prepare for our time together but remember the biggest thing you can do is relax! I really do handle everything except for feeding the baby (and if you bottle feed or pump, I can handle that part too!)
In the months leading up to delivery: Find the perfect newborn photographer. Well, that part is easy, since you're already here! NEXT!!!
Decide if you would like neutrals, colorful setups or a mixture of both. Look through the themes I have done in my portfolio or ask if I have props for other themes. Odds are that I do, and if I don't already, I can source and gather them for our session. I love my props and have way more than I can showcase in a website. I love making sessions custom for my clients so you will be given a questionnaire to complete that will ask lots of questions and this is where you will tell me everything you want to see, don't want to see or just leave it to me.
Decide if you want Maternity photos and if so, location or studio vibe! Let's chat about it and plan it. I have gowns and robes for use but that's a whole different topic. Again, prop hoarder!
In the weeks leading up to birth, please relax and enjoy your time being pregnant with Family and Friends (catch up on naps while you can).
Baby is here, it's go time! How to prepare for our newborn session!!
Don't stress! I will handle everything. If we are shooting in your home, I will arrive early and setup. While I setup I will ask you to give baby a full feeding and have them down to just a loose-fitting diaper and blanket wrapped around them. Sometimes I take them and get them in their first outfit and wrapped up before you feed so they are ready to shoot once they are full. Thats it, your job is done. Now you can sit back and watch me work with baby or catch up on other things you need to do while you have free time. I have seen (and not judged) several parents take a nap nearby, eat a meal without having to worry about baby's needs, watch a show, read a book, respond to emails... you know what you have been meaning to do but have not had 5 minutes to do.
Best part is that you didn't have to drive your new baby around in Metro Atlanta traffic. I bring everything to your home and just need a space to work it. I can move things around if needed or setup in several areas to make the space work. I live in Carrollton, Georgia but travel all around the Atlanta and West Georgia area to my clients. Whether that is Marietta, Hiram, Douglasville, Villa Rica, Newnan, Stone Mountain or somewhere else nearby. My clients love not having to pack up and take their new baby out in the world.
